The Danish 92 Group towards COP15

In the period towards the COP15 the Danish 92 Group is working closely with NGO colleagues around the world to work for an ambitious and just climate agreement in Copenhagen. At this webpage you can read about the international initiatives of the 92-group in preparation to COP15, including the NGO COP15 Dialogue - where the 92 Group facilitate a dialogue between international NGOs and the Danish Government; the International NGO Conference held in Copenhagen in May 2009; and the NGO COP15 Consortium promoting Southern Capacity Building and Participation in the climate negotiations.

NGO Climate Dialogue with
Danish Ministries before COP15

Around 30 international key NGO climate actors met on November 9th with leading negotiators from the Ministry of the Environment and the Prime Ministers Office, and with Minister for Development Cooperation Mrs. Ulla Tørnæs, for a dialogue meeting to excange views, perspectives regarding a successful outcome of the COP15 Climate Summit. The meeting was organised by the Danish 92 Group and followed two earlier ones on 26th February and 13th May in the NGO COP15 Dialogue For more information  see the menu above.

International Climate Dialogue 15th may

The international NGO conference culminated with an International Climate Dialogue Meeting where key issues in the Climate negotiations were debated by officials and NGOs. Keynote speakers were Mrs. Connie Hedegaard, Minister for Climate and Energy, Denmark and Mrs. Angelica Navarro, Lead Negotiator of Bolivia, as well as NGO representatives from South and North. International NGO Conference May 2009

Around a 100 key players in the global NGO community engaged in the UN climate negotiations met in Copenhagen from 11-15 May in a policy conference organized by the Danish 92 Group. NGOs from the South and North benefited of four days to coordinate and strategize in their advocacy and campaigns towards the COP15 in December. Many ideas and initiatives were taken forward already at the UNFCCC meeting in Bonn two weeks later. To see the media coverage of the Conference click here
