The workshop on technology cooperation was organised by a steering group consisting of Dalindyebo Shabalala, CIEL, in consultation with CAN Tech- Finance group co-chairs Victor Menotti (IFG), John Nordbo (WWF Denmark), Mark Lutes (David Suzuki Foundation) as well as Raman Mehta (ActionAid India).
The objective of the workshop was to enable civil society’s engagement in the international debate regarding the methods and options for operationalizing technology cooperation in the UNFCCC.
Outcomes:

Analysis of the status of UNFCCC negotiations concerning technology, including analysis of positions of the different parties;

Strategy planning for the forthcoming session in June;

Discussion and analysis of the basic framework and scope of technology cooperation;

Discussions on Governance and Administration of technology cooperation;
-
Identification and mobilisation of sources of financing for Technology Cooperation
The workshop also refined a briefing paper, which has been circulated in Forums such as CAN and has feed into the lobbying strategi at the June meeting.
